Acetamiprid is an organic compound with the chemical formula C10H11ClN4. This odorless neonicotinoid insecticide is produced by Aventis CropSciences under the trade names Assail and Chipco. Acetamiprid is a systemic insecticide used primarily to control sucking insects (Tassel-winged, Hemiptera, and especially aphids) on crops such as vegetables, citrus fruits, nut fruits, grapes, cotton, canola, and ornamentals. In commercial cherry cultivation, acetamiprid is also one of the key pesticides due to its high efficiency against cherry fruit fly larvae.
